These shots were done by underexposing the background / sun and using a studio flash at full power up close in my backyard. Just one of many ways to take a photograph. Adding a second flash unit could add to the output or be used for a fill in the shadow areas.

The Sun was behind them so I'm not sure why they were squinting so much.
